About Rasmalai

Rasmalai literally translates into liquid (Ras) and clotted cream (malai), which is cream which  remain on top after heated milk is cooled. Rasmalai (also spelled Ras Malai, Rassmalai) is soft cheese dumpling (ball), basically rasgulla, in creamy sweet sauce. The sauce is usally flavored with cardamom (Elaichi) and saffron (Kesar). Rasmalai is always served chilled. Its has soft texture and good Rasmalai should melt in your mouth.
