Kheer (Indian Rice Pudding)
About Kheer

Kheer is simply rice pudding (with hint of spice) and one of most popular Indian deserts.

 Ingredients

1/2 cup Basmati rice (uncooked)
3 cups milk
1 cup condensed milk (alternate half and half with 2 tablesppon sugar)
3-5 pods cardamom (elachi)
1 cups sugar

Optional
unsalted cashews, dates, saffron (Kesar)

 Preparation
1 Wash rice and cook with 2 cups of milk in low-medium heat.
2 After milk is reduced to half, add condensed milk. Add extra milk if necessary (not required when using half and half).
3 Add optional ingredients.
4 Serve hot or cold.
