Pakistani Aloo Subzi (Pakistani Potato Vegetable)

 Ingredients

3 or 4 medium red potatoes (Aloo)
1 small onion
1/3 teaspoon garlic powder
2/3 ginger
1 teaspoon turmeric
3 tablespoon vegetable oil
salt to taste

Optional:

2 cloves
1 whole cardamom
1 whole bay leaf (Tej Patta)

 Preparation
1 Boil potatoes until tender.
2 Peel and crush potatoes with a fork.
3 Chop onion and brown in oil.
4 Add potatoes, spices and ½ c. water and stir well.
5 Lower heat and cook for 5 to 7 minutes.
