Sewai (Vermicelli Pudding)

About Sewai Recipe

Sewai is an Indian vermicelli pudding made from milk, similar to Kheer. Sewai can be substituted very fine angel hair pasta or oriental vermicelli. Also spelled Sewian.

 Ingredients

¼ lb Sewai (Indian vermicelli)
1 cup whole milk
1 cup half and half
4 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon ghee or butter
4 tablespoon sugar

Optional:
handful of resins
handful broken unsalted cashew and pistachio

 
 Preparation
1

Break apart sewai into 1-2 inch pieces.

2 Heat ghee over medium low. Lightly fry sewai until light golden brown.
3 Add milk and half and half over low heat.
4 Add sugar and optionals.
5 Serve warm
